The Staatsolie refinery at Tout Lui Faut in Suriname is being expanded. The current refinery, operational since 1997, processes 7,500 barrels of crude a day, to produce diesel, fuel oil and asphalt bitumen.

The new expanded refinery will have a processing capacity of 15,000 barrels a day producing premium diesel, gasoline, fuel oil and asphalt bitumen, mainly for the local market and sulfuric acid for export.
